With more than 20 years of experience in the banking world, he began his career at Interbanco S.p.A. where, coordinating a team of 8 analysts, he participated in the approval and signing of a total of 700 medium/long-term transactions ranging from € 1m to € 200m, for a total volume of €3.8 billion.

He continued his career first at Banca Antonveneta S.p.A. (ABN Amro Group) as Relationship Manager in the Large Corporate division (origination and coverage of a client portfolio with a turnover between €200 m and €1 billion) and then in GE Capital Interbanco S.p.A. (General Electric Group) where, coordinating a team of 10 portfolio managers, he managed the bank's performing loan portfolio of about €2.4 billion. He joined the team in 2016. With more than 15 years of experience in the banking world, he began his career as an Auditor in a Big 4, continuing as a Corporate Credit Analyst at InterBanca S.p.A. (later GE Capital InterBanca S.p.A.), up to the role of manager of a portfolio of € 300m of credits deriving from LBO transactions, with a focus on restructuring activities.

In the last 5.5 years he has continued his career at RiverRock European Capital Partners LLP as Vice President in the Italian Hybrid Capital Fund, investing in Italian SMEs for about €90 m through debt/equity instruments (corporate acquisitions, LBO and capex). He joined the team in 2021. Key Man of GAPDF I, key man and member of the Investment Committee in GAPDF II.

Entrepreneur and Manager, he is the President of the parent company Green Arrow Capital SpA, Chief Executive Officer of the Italian management platform Green Arrow Capital Sgr (formerly Quadrivio) and of the Luxembourgish platform Green Arrow Asset Selection SARL (formerly Quercus).

Graduated cum Laude in Economics and Commerce from the La Sapienza University of Rome, he has a long experience in the financial sector, in Telecommunications, in Energy and Digital Infrastructure and in the world of Consulting. After a first position in 1993 in London in a large investment bank, he continued his career as a Top Manager of listed companies and Private Equity funds. He was Vice President of Assosolar and Board Member and responsible for the internationalization of Assorinnovables (the largest European association for renewable energy). He was Deputy CEO of Greentech Energy Systems A/S listed on Nasdaq Omx and Chief Executive Officer of the GWM Renewable Energy group owned by Intesa San Paolo and Pirelli. Currently a member of the board of directors of Richetti S.p.a.. , President of Labware and Poplast and member of the AIFI General Council. In May 2024, he was appointed Effective Member of National Observatory for the Protection of the Sea Strategic Committee (ONTM) and ONTM Effective Member.

Full Professor of the Department of Finance at Bocconi University, he conducts research on stock markets, banks, Risk Management and Corporate Governance.

His research has been published in important journals such as the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Econometrics, Journal of Monetary Economics and Oxford Economic Papers. He has been Teaching Assistant at Yale University, Visiting Scholar at the London School of Economics and the University of Melbourne, and Visiting Professor at Stanford. He is currently Chairman of Eurizon Capital, former Chairman of the Management Board of Intesa Sanpaolo.

He has a long experience in Direct Lending. Member of the Register of Statutory Auditors for more than 10 years.

He began his career at IMI first as a credit manager and then as head of the Corporate Finance department. After a brief period in Sige Investimenti, investment bank of the IMI Group, in 1999 he became CEO and general manager of IMI Investimenti Spa. He is currently a board member of listed companies and a member of the board of several Italian limited companies.

With a long experience in providing credit, he held the role of Head of the Credit Department at IMI.

Subsequently, he was a full member of the Credit Committee of Intesa Sanpaolo and a member of the Expert Committee of Cassa Depositi e Presitti. He currently serves as a member of the board of directors of Banca IMI. Overall, he has more than 40 years of Direct Lending experience.
